Crostini alla johanna

Crostini alla johanna

OK, so this is a first for me, but i got to thinking tonight and realized that my 2 favorite creative projects involve cooking and photography. I've known this for awhile but somehow the urge to do some food blogging literally just hit me tonight. So I'm going to give this a go, and lucky for me I made something pretty awesome tonight.......

Backstory: I went to Boca Lupo on Henry St. the other night. They have a selection of crostini on the menu, and I had two - the chicken liver/dried cranberry and the spring pea/proscuitto. I was never a big pea fan (I get this from my parents, who only liked one pea dish in their life, in Italy, which was recreated with mixed results on their home table), but this dish was so fresh and yummy and perfect.

On my errands today I stopped by to see my local produce guy, and lo and behold, he had a big old box of spring peas. I improvised with the recipe but it turned out pretty good after a little tweaking. So here we are with quite the fancy cuisine for a Friday night on the couch. Maybe I'll post the recipe after I eat them!
